The
jackdaw is searching for food on the grass. It will eat all sorts of food
- small animals, like worms and caterpillars, as well as seeds and berries.
It is an omnivore. It is a member of the crow family
and is smaller than the common crow. They can cause problems by building
their nests in chimneys. Often the person doesn't spot the problem until
they light a fire in late autumn and find the smoke doesn't go up the
chimney!
