If there's a topic you feel would lend itself to this site then let me know. I am planning to set up a log-in for teachers that will allow them to set up their own on-line hangman games and multiple choice quizzes.

Meanwhile - here are some websites I have found useful - see what you think. There are lots more on the Links page which children should be able to access on their own. Any sites you would recommend would be gratefully received! Let me know if you have problems with any of them.

Science and Plants for Schools
Great ideas and free stuff for practical work with plants.

Field Studies Council
Courses for pupils and adults. Their fold-out guides are great for identification when studying habitats.

Whether you're planning a visit or not you'll find useful facts for science teaching on their website.

Joint Earth Science Education Initiative
Designed to give teachers more confidence in teaching earth science.

FreeFoto.com
As long as it's not for commercial use you can use the pictures on this site - read their conditions.

Insect Lore
Good but not cheap products. I've used their painted lady caterpillars and all has worked very well each time.

New Scientist
Keep up to date on developments in science.

Science/Chemistry Quizzes
A range of quiz questions for age 8 upwards. American site but useful for plenary and revision work if you select carefully.

ScienceWeb
Currently £25 a year to register for useful worksheets and interactives for science teaching.

Teacher Resource Exchange
Useful site with lots of free resources - some great Flash and Powerpoint presentations amongst them.

Teachers Evaluating Education Software
Look here for reviews before spending those eLC's.

Moonwatch
Site to encourage involvement in discovering the phases of the moon - a project for Einstein year.

The Great British Snail Hunt
I didn't realise we had so many different snails. Organise a hunt and fill in the questionairre. A great practical activity and it will be contributing to a greater understanding of our snails and their distribution.

BBC Science and Nature
Great stuff to help teachers build up their knowledge and pupils to learn in a fun way.

The BA Resources for learning
British Association for the Advancement of Science resources, activities, news and clubs for young people.

Association for Science Education
Books, conferences, resources and lots mre or anyone involved in teaching science.

Science One Stop
A developing site from ASE. Useful for all ages.

Science Year 2003
Not as silly as it may sound! As part of the year ASE set up this site and have still got resources avilable on it which are really quite useful (Tip: when you think you have found something useful right click on the link to the resource and save the target rather than opening up powerpoint or pdf files - it's quicker to browse them later and delete those you don't want to keep).

Granada Learning Software
Free resources for teachers as well as software for purchase.

BBC Teachers resources for KS2 Science
A list with links for teachers on all available BBC materials for National Curriculum Science topics.

Primary Resources
Hosted by RM - looking for a presentation or lesson plan? Search through to see if there's something on this site for you.

Farming and Countryside Education
Information on the above with links to lots of interest.

British Trees
Has information on all 33 native british trees and resources to help in identification as well as links to organisations involved in forestry.

I Science Mate
Integrating Math Science and Technology. A US site with some excellent flash slideshows. Much more than is needed for KS2 but some really useful individual slides and animations. A great site to look at and use on the interactive whiteboard. Go into Elementary and then take the Slideshows link on the left. There's much more than the slideshows on here if you take the time to browse.

Forest Education Initiative
Learning Resources about Trees, Forests and Forest Products.
